Congrats Comment #221 - Susan Smith
As a busy mother of 3 children I often struggle to find the time and energy to cook family meals. Between laundry, homework helping, housework and more, I always have that lurking question that starts around noon, “What’s for dinner?” I try to change up the meals I serve my family, but it isn’t always easy to come up with new ideas. Although the home cooking does does get done on a nightly basis because I feel sit down family dinners are extremely important for children, it doesn’t mean it’s a simple task. Now that I’ve been introduced to Homemade Gourmet, my load has been lightened in a very delicious way.
Homemade Gourmet started in 1997 inside a single kitchen owned by founder Tami Von Hoy, who took her hobby of cooking and used it as a way to help bring families back to the dinner table. After selling out of the 650 mixes she brought to her first trade show, her business flourished quickly. Soon after Tami did her first homeshow, which was so successful she decided to open Homemade Gourmet to Independent Consultants, that could sell the mixes themselves. By 1999 Homemade Gourmet had outgrown Tami’s kitchen and today the corporate office is located in Canton, Texas on a 22 acre campus.
Our generous sponsoring consultant, Amber Friedli, is a mother of 2 and part time nurse, and loves the products! She decided to sell Homemade Gourmet to not only supplement her family’s income, but because she wanted to have time as a woman, and not just a mother & wife. As you can imagine I had an extremely difficult time choose some Homemade Gourmet items to review! In the end, I chose a variety of mixes including entrees, a salad, and a dessert. I decided to make the Garlic Pesto Pasta mix for dinner the next evening!
The Homemade Gourmet mixes come in a bag like pictured above, and you can simply flip up the label for detailed, easy to follow cooking instructions, optional items you can add in to jazz up the recipe even more, and sometimes even a tear off shopping list that you can bring to the store with you to make sure you have exactly what you need. Simplicity is key!
Pictured below is how our Garlic Pesto Pasta with added chicken, cherry tomatoes, and parmesan cheese. I can not begin to describe to all of you how good this was. Unbelievable! Our family of 5 finished off the entire pot below in one sitting and I will be ordering more of this from Amber soon! It was super easy and the quality can not be beat.
Since trying the Garlic Pesto Pasta mix I have also made the Cornbread Casserole mix and the Amazing Amaretto Cheesecake mix, both of which were fantastic, easy, satisfying, and delicious!
