Remember those paper fortune teller game that we all made, usually out of notebook paper, and played with as kids?  Thanks to Cahootie, this timeless, iconic game has been enhanced and expanded to deliver fun, learning and more for tweens ages 7 through 12 and their families and friends.

Each Cahootie is made from very durable, high quality, laminate paper with fun, colorful graphics. Available in 20 themes with everything from Slumber Party and My Fab Family, there is bound to be a perfect theme to suit your child. Every Cahootie comes with 40 reusable and interchangeable stickers so your child’s Cahootie can stay exciting, new, and fun!

• Remove Cahootie from packaging.
• Remove stickers from under the Cahootie Tray
• Choose 8 stickers of your choice and place on the inner most flaps of the Cahootie (2 stickers on each flap)
• Slide your thumbs and two first fingers under the four flaps and close the Cahootie to a point- it will look like a pyramid
• The person holding the Cahootie asks another player to choose one of the panels. Spell out the word and move the Cahootie accordingly. Each letter, open the Cahootie in one direction alternating by moving your fingers away from each other vertically, and with the next letter away from each other horizontally
• The player then chooses an inside flap and again the Cahootie is moved accordingly for every letter spelled out
• The player then picks any one of the four triangles showing and that flap is opened to reveal the coordinating sticker with either trivia, a fortune, or a challenge. (Cover the sticker next to the one chosen to keep it a surprise for the next game)
• When the players want new surprises revealed, just replace the stickers with new ones. Each Cahootie comes with 40 removable and interchangeable stickers

Also available on the Cahootie website is Club Cahootie, a social playspace for your child and entire family. In Club Cahootie you can decorate your avatar, listen to music, blog, play games and even watch full episodes of Glee! Kids under 18 will need their parents to fill out an entire consent form and Club Cahootie is monitored to keep kids safe!

I chose the Wishes and Dreams Cahootie for Makenna as one of her birthday gifts. It is indeed made from strong, durable paper, so it’s not going to crumple and get ruined with use. It was so fun to show her what exactly a Cahootie was and explain how we used to have to make our own when I was her age. I helped her set it up and allowed her to choose which stickers she’d like to use first. She could easily read the stickers but I would recommend the child receiving a Cahootie have at least a third grade reading level. Kenna, and even Maddie, grasped the game quickly, but spelling out each other’s choices while moving their fingers was a bit of a struggle. I feel the perfect exact age for a Cahootie would be 9 through 12, although luckily, ours will last a wonderful long time to come!
