I absolutely love customizing my children’s birthdays! I think making the entire experience unique for your child makes them feel that much more special on their special day. I love being different any time of year and truth be told, I love having custom items that will leave my friends asking “Where did you get that?!” Olive and Ollie are helping us create those custom looks we love by offering a variety of handmade goods that are made with the highest attention to detail and quality, and designed with style and practicality in mind.
Started by Heather, who, after finding out there weren’t many options she liked for her soon to be first born son, decided to create and make her own. Her hobby blossomed into an etsy store, who’s products have been featured in Parents magazine and countless blogs. Olive and Ollie was named after Heather’s great grandmother Olive and great great aunt Ollie, both of whom loved to make things by hand and who shared Heather’s belief in homemade being the best!
Olive and Ollie offers a variety of homemade pieces from custom birthday shirts to chenille blankets, dresses to bibs and much more. All of which have a fun, whimsical, retro, adorable feel to them. Have a particular theme or colors for an upcoming birthday party, baby nursery, or event? Simply message Olive and Ollie on Etsy and you can communicate directly with Heather on creating something specific and perfect for your needs.
We generously receive a custom birthday shirt for each of my children. You can see Bub in his, Makenna in hers, and a picture of Maddie’s shirt, which will be worn with a smile at her party this Sunday and pictures will posted next week! I worked with Heather to describe to her the color schemes and theme for each of the kids’ parties and then left it up to her imagination to create anything she thought was fitting. As you can see, the shirts were perfect!
I wish there was a way for me to describe to you the awesomeness of these shirts. We were all instantly smiling when we laid eyes on the new tees. First, they are made with 100% American Apparel t-shirts, which although run a size small, certainly do not lack in the quality department. The fabric choices Heather decided on went together well and complimented each other without looking tacky. Our shirts arrived neatly packaged and very well put together. They honestly looked professional instead of handmade and even come equipped with an Olive and Ollie tag!
Not only was the products sensational, but I honestly received the BEST customer service, communication, and experience while working with Olive and Ollie. Heather was always kind, beyond easy to work with, answered emails promptly and shipped my shirts when she promised. Many of my long time readers know that I do not always mention the customer service portion of a review, but when it goes this far above and beyond, sharing it is a must!
I highly recommend Olive and Ollie for their service and of course, handmade goods!
