Chances are your kids just headed back to school, or, like mine, will start very soon. As parents I’m sure you’ll agree that you don’t feel right without making sure your children have a wholesome, nutritious breakfast each and every morning. I’m sure most of you will also agree that morning routines become hectic and making a homemade, full on hot breakfast isn’t always feasible, especially on weekdays.
Kix cereal has been around since 1937 and for over 70 years have always lived up to their simple promise: providing a crunchy corn ball cereal that offers good nutrition and great taste. Kix cereal uses all natural whole grain corn and contains vitamin D, calcium, fiber and iron. At only 110 calories per 1 1/4 cup serving, it’s not going to throw you or your children off course with an overly fattening sugary morning meal. What’s more is Kix doesn’t contain any saturated fat, high fructose corn syrup, and never has any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
We received six (yes I said SIX) boxes of Kix cereal to review and enjoy. Now six boxes of cereal is no small ordeal so I’d like to immediately share what we did with them. We gave a box to my parents, a box to my little sister and her fiance, saved two boxes for Maddie’s Kindergarten class since all parents are asked to provide snacks, and kept two boxes for ourselves. Kix have always been a hit here in our home, so although I’m happy to provide my children more, it’s no surprise. On another note, I’m excited that Maddox’s entire class will be able to share in a nutritious snack during their break and I love that my little sister, who’s currently losing weight, takes dry Kix cereal in a baggy to work as a mid day snack. It’s always nice to be able to share goodies with family and friends while knowing what you’re doing is good for them! Kix is officially Kid tested, Mother (and FAMILY) approved!
