About two months ago I introduced all of you to Cool Cuts 4 Kids, the largest kid based haircare company in the country. Since she is used to having her haircut, although mostly by me at home, she sat very well and didn’t really pose a challenge to the stylist Natalie. We did adore the atmosphere and she had a wonderful time watching Tangled while getting her new do. I also mentioned in that review we would be back again with Bub, who absolutely hates getting his hair cut here at home.  We had such a wonderful first experience with Cool Cuts 4 Kids that when I was asked if I would like to return for another review I was ecstatic! I have to admit that since we would be bringing Bub this time, I was a bit nervous as well. How he acted at Cool Cuts 4 Kids would be the true test.

Hubs and I set out with Bub while the girls were at school to focus on his new ‘do. We were both a bundle of nerves and took turns talking to Bub, prepping him and letting him know where we were going and what would be happening there. When we arrived at Cool Cuts 4 Kids we saw Natalie wasn’t working that day, but we met another wonderful stylist named Gail who immediately gave off the “grandma” like vibe. I told her Bub’s history with haircuts at home because I felt the need to give her a warning in advance. She told me not to worry and took Bub on over to a chair so he could play a video game for a moment and get the feel of sitting there comfortably.

Gail then asked Bub which car he’d like to ride in today while he got his haircut and he chose the taxi. He also chose to watch an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while he got his hair done. I could immediately see he loved making little choices, but hubs and I were still nervous about how things would go since Gail hadn’t started to cut yet.

Bub became a bit apprehensive when it was time to put on the cape but Gail quickly told him it was a superhero cape and he calmed down. It was obvious Bub was nervous as Gail began to clip his hair but she spoke to him softly, explained what she was doing and told him how good he was being. He soon lightened up a bit and I can not tell you how many times Hubs and I looked at each other in awe and disbelief! No tears, no hassle, no fuss, no stress and best of all, Bub had the haircut I always wished for him to have! We will certainly be returning to Cool Cuts 4 Kids when Bub needs another trim!
