I received a new Chicken Soup for the Soul book recently and love being a part of this wonderful blogger network. They arrive as a surprise and when I open my package to find another book filled with heartfelt stories and love, it always warms me inside just a bit. Just the fact that there are enough wonderful examples to keep creating these books is enough to give anyone hope. Perhaps someday I will submit a personal story of my own to be included in one, especially because I have spoken to and worked with author Susan M. Heim!
Chicken Soup For The Soul: Devotional Stories For Tough Times
Struggles test us all, but readers will find counsel and reassurance in these devotional stories of faith, strength, and prayer. This collection is filled with stories that show God’s presence during times of trouble — from illness, addictions, job loss, grief, and much more — providing a boost and reminder of God’s ever-present love. Readers will find encouragement, solace, and hope in these personal stories and prayers.
I am personally not a religious person at all, however, I have many friends and family members that are. I took my copy of this Chicken Soup for the Soul book and gave it to my dear friend Claudia. She is a Christian, loves to read and unfortunately she has had her fair share of tough times. Since I visited her home on Friday morning for her to do my hair and makeup for my vow renewal, I gave her this book as a thank you gift. I take comfort in knowing that perhaps next time she’s feeling a bit down she can open this book and read stories that lift her spirits. With the holidays quickly approaching, I am sure many others will also need some extra faith that hopefully these stories can provide.
