Mixaroma Oils Review & Giveaway (12/21)

by Marcie on December 1, 2011

I absolutely love getting a good massage. I have received numerous massages throughout my life from professional massage therapists everywhere from the school where they learn (which only costs $15 for an hour out here in Las Vegas) to many salons and massage only specialty businesses. I have had ones I didn’t enjoy so much and ones I loved. Despite that I have never had a massage as good as the ones I receive from my hubs. He knows the exact pressure I prefer, I don’t have to feel at all uncomfortable being almost totally naked around him and just has a talent for being wonderful at deep tissue concentration. Something wonderful that goes along with receiving a massage at home is essential oils. After all, you need something wonderful to rub into your skin and create an even more amazing at home massage experience.

Mixaroma is a newer company that has been creating products that are organic, natural and made from fair trade ingredients since 2008. They take pride in this, as well as the fact that all of their products are made from animal free products and are as hypo-allergenic as possible. Mixaroma carries a wonderful variety of gift baskets and spa sets that contain everything from soaps, candles, and products like lavender oil, all of which are perfect for any holiday or occasion. These products are also carried in many fine hotels, salons, spas and stores worldwide so you can be confident you’re buying and receiving the best around.

I received the Organic Aromatherapy Massage Oil-Skincare Oil Gift Set to review. This set includes four 1oz bottle of organic Bomo oil in four wonderful scents: Lavender Cacao, Mint Cacao, Citrus Cacao and Geranium Cacao. When I first read about this set I thought to myself, what is Cacao? It’s real organic chocolate that is used for the purpose of body nourishment and moisturizing. When my gift set arrived I took the time to smell each of the essential oils before I used any. You can certainly smell the hint of chocolate in every variety. It’s not super overpowering, but it’s definitely obvious. That rich, warm scent certainly makes it perfect for the fall and winter seasons, which is personally when my skin needs the most moisturizing. All four scents smelled great, with my favorite being the Geranium. That actually surprised me because usually I’m a lavender girl, although this time, that came in second. I could also see myself using the Mint variety if I were feeling a bit under the weather and got a massage for my muscle aches.

A small tiny amount of these oils go a LONG way. The directions on the bottle say to use a quarter size amount. When I saw this I figured there is no way that will be enough. I tried it anyway for review purposes and it certainly was sufficient! It left my skin feeling soft and moist, but not greasy. If I had used more than the recommended amount, I can see my skin being a bit too greasy so follow the directions on these! This set of massage oil or any of the other Mixaroma gift sets would make wonderful holiday gifts and stocking stuffers for anyone from family and friends, to teachers and co-workers.
