I recently heard that all too common phrase “Mommy, can I have that?” When I looked up to glance at yet another item my children were asking for, I discovered that the little critters on my screen were kind of neat looking. I asked Makenna to tell me exactly what these were and what they did. She told me they were called Inkoos and they were fun characters that came with special markers to allow you to draw on them as much as you wanted, put them in the washing machine, and then start drawing all over again! I immediately stored the name and information in the back of my head to remember while doing my holiday shopping. After all, Makenna is super artistic and her favorite thing to do is draw, so an Inkoo would make a perfect gift.

From a funky little town called Inkwell, here come the Inkoos! Quirky characters with a taste for adventure, Inkoos are drawn to life with a little Inkspiration from a friend like you. The Inkoos motto is “If you can think it, you can ink it” and each of the seven styles available allows your child to go wild and get in touch with their creative side. All Inkoos come with their special amazing markers that enables your child to draw, design and decorate them into anything you can imagine! When they’re ready for something new, just send them home for a rinse and a spin and start all over again! Every inch of inkoos can be designed and decorated with their washable markers. Also included is an Inkspiration Wheel gives you tons of design ideas – like ballerina, pirate and rockstar to name a few. Each inkoos character includes the Inkspiration Wheel, plus 3 washable markers with a cool clip-on design so you can keep them handy for whenever Inkspiration strikes! There are also nine Mini Inkoos available as well. Just as with their bigger sized siblings, Mini Inkoos work the same way, only more compact for drawing on the go. The mini’s are perfect for younger children or as a gift to take along on a car or plane ride.
Although I stored the name into my memory, could you imagine my delight when only a week or so later I was contacted to review Inkoos? What wonderful timing! I remember having a similar toy when I was a kid and really enjoyed drawing on it over and over again. Makenna is much more creative than I was so I’m sure I will be washing her Inkoos more than my mom washed my toy. We received a regular Inkoo as well as a Mini Inkoo. Let me tell you, the Mini is still a decent size and the regular Inkoos is a wonderful size. Both are adorable and although not furry, still very huggable and sweet. I love how they come complete with a little clip that easily loops through their black Inkoos tag on the side of every character. This makes it easy to keep track of the special markers so they aren’t lost and thus, the drawing fun is done. To wash them, you simply have to place them inside a pillow case, wash on warm, and make sure all the old drawings are off before drying. Sometimes 2 wash cycles are necessary, but to be able to reuse something like this is well worth it! Makenna will be getting the big Inkoos for Christmas and Maddox will be getting the Mini Inkoos. I do plan to write a message on each of their Inkoos that say I LOVE YOU so when they open them Christmas morning they have an additional surprise!

I guess I’m not really entering the contest (but would be cool if I won) but I just wanted to say that I bought one of these for Makenna on Black Friday! We found it at Target and I know she’s been wanting a Doodle Bear but I thought this was much cooler! I hope she likes it come Christmas Day!
