Intimina By LELO Review & Giveaway (12/24)

by Marcie on December 3, 2011

As a woman, I like to take good care of my body. I try to eat right and exercise on a regular basis, I treat myself to manicures and pedicures at the salon, and I recently even used a teeth whitening system. Physical upkeep is not only important for my self esteem, but for my emotional well being and self confidence. After all, what woman out there doesn’t want to look and feel her best? How about taking care of your feminine needs? It is a topic that isn’t always publicly talked about and I feel it’s safe to assume it might be one many women overlook, either due to not being properly educated or not knowing what to do to feel their best all over.

Intimina is a company that was established in 2009 by Ivana Sedic. Thanks to her close relationship with LELO, Ivana felt that women needed a reputable company with impeccable standards that women could turn to to take care of feminine well being. Intimina was born and since then, they have become a globally recognized company that not only provides items that aim at women’s intimate well being, but also a place where women can turn to find the resources and facts they need to enjoy their femininity to the fullest!

We have all heard of kegel exercises. They are simple muscle contractions that help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. Exercising these muscles can help prepare your body for labor and delivery, maintain bladder control, and create a better experience during intimacy. Since these exercises help at many stages throughout a woman’s life, there is never a bad time to start and continue to do kegel exercises. That being said, there is sometimes confusion over how to do them and if you’re doing them correctly. The Laselle Kegel Exercisers from Intimina can help! Made from safe, smooth silicone, you start by selecting one of three weighted balls depending on your level of current pelvic strength. Your Laselle Kegel Exerciser is worn discreetly during your usual daily activities. By using this, you will be able to have a solid object to contract around making strengthening more effective. You will also be able to locate and know your pelvic floor muscles, to ensure everything is being done efficiently and correctly. As your body strengthens over time, you can purchase a heavier ball to provide more resistance and keep training your muscles.

I received a Laselle Kegel Exerciser to review and I have to admit, I was pretty darn nervous. I feel that after three children and three vaginal births I could certainly use some work on my pelvic floor. I, thankfully, don’t have an incontinence issue and know how to correctly do kegel exercises alone, nothing could hurt from trying things this way. Insertion and use didn’t hurt at all. It wasn’t even slightly uncomfortable. As promised, the ball responds to your bodies movements and almost forces pelvic floor muscle contraction and release at times. Although forced, the contractions didn’t hurt and they aren’t even annoying. I am excited to keep using my Laselle Kegel Exerciser to continue to strengthen my body and hopefully bring myself back to pre pregnancy feeling all the way around!

Another popular Intimina product is their feminine moisturizer. At some point in our lives we probably have, or probably will, experience vaginal dryness. This brings discomfort and put a halt to intimate activities. The Intimina moisturizer is a water based solution fortified with aloe vera, is applied externally and is a gentle, hydrating lotion. Thankfully it is alcohol, glycerin and paraben free. It is also so gentle it can be used on a daily basis to alleviate dryness or can be used prior to intimacy for a more enjoyable experience.

I did receive a sample of the Intimina feminine moisturizer. This is one thing I certainly don’t need, at least right now at this stage of my life. I will be passing this on to a close friend of mine, however, for review purposes, I did test out the moisturizer on my skin to feel it’s effects. It is non-greasy and not sticky like many moisturizers I’ve felt before. I would certainly recommend the Intimina moisturizer if you are in need of a product like this!

I learned that “light natural fabrics – such as cotton, linen and silk – are more breathable and tend to help keep you cool. To feel as confident as possible, steer clear of synthetics such as polyester, rayon, and nylon. These are poor at absorbing moisture, leaving it trapped next to your skin and causing potential rashes or soreness.”.

Kegel exercises, named after Dr. Arnold Kegel who formalized this technique, are a series of vaginal contraction and relaxation movements that strengthen the Pubococcygeus (PC) muscles – the sling-like set of muscles in the pelvic floor. These muscles serve many functions such as: providing support for abdominal organs (your bladder and uterus, to name two), maintaining good sexual health, and maintaining continence (bladder control) at all stages of life.

Just a quick comment: The moisturizer is a lubricant, so you don’t need to experience vaginal dryness to try it out. You can use it with as lube with a partner or during solo sex activities, such as using these kegel exercisers, the moisturizer helps to aid in the insertion..
