Baskin Robbins Cake Bites Review & Giveaway (1/6)

by Marcie on December 16, 2011

I am in love with all things Baskin Robbins. I have distinct memories of being taken there as a child and getting either a scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip or one of the fabulous Baskin Robbins Clown Cones, which they still have today! My love for their fabulous 31 flavors has never ceased and since Baskin Robbins has been around since 1945 creating and marketing  innovative, premium ice cream, specialty frozen desserts and beverages, as well as providing quality and value to consumers at more than 6,000 retail shops in 33 countries, I’d say millions all over the world agree!

Recently Baskin Robbins unveiled it’s newest culinary creation, Cake Bites – a new taste extravaganza that combines both ice cream and cake in a single serving.  These beautifully presented mini desserts are covered with indulgent ganache and finished with a decorative drizzle of either chocolate or caramel.  Cake Bites cost $2.99 individually or are $9.99 for a mix-n-match 4-pack and are available in the following four flavors:

  • Double Chocolate – Chocolate ice cream over chocolate cake, enrobed with chocolate ganache coating, finished with chocolate accent
  • Praline Caramel – Pralines ‘n Cream ice cream over white cake enrobed with white chocolate ganache coating, finished with caramel drizzle & chopped pralines
  • Chocolate Mint – Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream over chocolate cake, enrobed with chocolate ganache coating, finished with white chocolate drizzle
  • Vanilla Blondie – Vanilla ice cream over white cake, enrobed with white chocolate ganache coating, finished with chocolate accent

We were given the opportunity to review Baskin Robbins Cake Bites and I couldn’t wait. I decided to be nice and share with my pregnant and sweets loving little sister. I chose to get an original package with one of each of the four flavors. You do have the opportunity to customize a four pack. Baskin Robbins recommends customers pre- order Cake Bites in advance if they are customizing a mix and match box of four and not picking up a pre-made package.

We split each of the four varieties and even let our honeys have a few bites too. All that could be heard between bites was WOW, MMMMM and YUM! Each and every kind was perfect! The Chocolate Mint shown above brought back the Mint Chocolate Chip memories of my youth and was also hubs’ favorite of the three. Surprisingly, because it usually isn’t this way for me, the Vanilla Blondie was my favorite. The hint of the rich, dreamy chocolate fudge accent mixed in with the vanilla ice cream and white cake was the best thing ever. Although we split our Cake Bites, we were still all satisfied with the amount received. These make an amazing at home dessert for two, perhaps after a romantic dinner date in? They’re also a great way to celebrate a close friend or co-workers birthday. Baskin Robbins certainly has met success yet again!
