Diamond Candles Review & Giveaway (1/27)

by Marcie on January 13, 2012

Do you recall me sharing an opportunity for diamond lovers? In that post last month I mentioned that I would be reviewing a candle from Diamond Candles and of course, giving you an opportunity to win. That time has come and I am excited to share my personal Diamond Candles experience with all of you!
In case you aren’t familiar with Diamond Candles, they are a newer company, founded in January 2011, who produces delicious smelling, earth friendly, all natural soy candles in an amazing array of scents. Not only do you get the privilege of a yummy scent around your home via a 21oz. candle that burns for 125-160 hours, but inside each and every candle is a special ring worth either $10, $100, $1000 or $5000! Yes, I’m serious. Long after your candle is gone you will have a ring to wear for years to come. The real question is, how much will that ring be worth?

I received the Diamond Candles cupcake candle ! It totally does smell like cupcakes without being overpowering although the scent does make me crave cake (HA!) I immediately started burning my Diamond Candle when it arrived, after all, I knew something was lurking in there waiting for me, so I enjoyed the scent and awaited my magic prize to reveal itself. It took about a day and a half of burning before a little gold foil ball was released.

Here is my gold foil ball, covered in cream colored cupcake wax. No worries trying to dig it out or scrape for it inside the Diamond Candles. Your ring will automatically come loose when it’s burned down to that point. Inside that foil was a very small baggie which keeps another layer of protection around the rings so as not to be ruined by wax or heat.

So what did I find inside MY Diamond Candle?

Here is my yellow gold band with hunky square shaped sapphire ring!  Can you see the heart on either side too? At first I didn’t know if it was real or not, but upon inspection I noticed the inside of the band said “China” and then I realized it was indeed fake and one of the $10 rings. I would be lying if I didn’t admit I was a bit disappointed, however, that changed when later that afternoon Makenna noticed this ring on my bathroom counter. While asking where I got it she proceeded to pick it up, put it on, and exclaim it was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. Hearing those words and watching her swoon over my $10 prize put a huge smile on my face, not to mention, I have over half a yummy smelling candle left!

I have to admit that I’m already itching for another Diamond Candle! I’m considering purchasing one for my candle loving mother, who’s birthday is in March. For $25 you’re guaranteed at least a $10 ring, which makes the price of the candle $15, not bad. You never know, you could spend $25 on a $5000 investment!
