Milk Nursing Wear Review & Giveaway (2/10)

by Marcie on January 19, 2012

It’s happened to so many of us. We’re out somewhere and need to nurse our babies, yet, we would prefer to be discreet. Thankfully apart from breastfeeding covers, nursing wear is another great solution. The only problem is that much of the nursing wear available is frumpy and not flattering to our figures. Elisa Hartstein, the founder of Milk nursing dresses, fully agreed which is what prompted her to start a line consisting of modern, chic breastfeeding clothing and accessories to set her brand apart from the others!

Offering tops, dresses, sleepwear and more in many different designs and colors, Milk Nursing Wear certainly changes the image we have for nursing clothing with their obvious sense of fashion and style. There are sleeveless pieces available for the warmer months as well as long sleeve pieces for when it’s cooler so regardless of when or how long you decide to breastfeed, you know there is cute clothing to make your experience easy and comfortable. I appreciated that all of the items I found on Milk Nursing Wear were fashionable yet very versatile. The colors are far from plain or boring, yet, allow you to dress the pieces up or down, perfect for any occasion or even just a regular day of errand running. I also like that Milk Nursing Wear offers belly bands, nursing bras, slings, privacy covers, plus size clothing, and even items ecoMilk, an environmentally friendly line of bamboo nursing wear. There’s truly something for every mommy on the Milk website!

Since my sister is due in early June we knew it would be most advantageous to select a sleeveless nursing top to review. After all, Las Vegas summers are known for their dry, scorching heat so comfort is indeed key. She selected the Sleeveless Babydoll nursing top in blue. Made from 95% cotton and 5% Lyrca, it has the perfect amount of stretch while still being super comfortable. The blue featured on the site was a bit darker then the color of the top that we actually received, but that wasn’t a problem since we loved both colors. In fact, I personally like the actual color of the top better since spring and summer are coming up quickly! As you can see from the picture you simply have to lift the smocked layer to access the opening and easily begin nursing. I love this choice because not only is it perfect for during pregnancy as the weather warms up, but the flowy babydoll shape will hide the after baby belly she will be trying to get rid of while nursing too.
