Summers Closet Review & Giveaway (3/8)

If you have been a regular reader here on Obviously MARvelous you are probably well aware of how much I love boutiques. Sure, anyone can go into a retail store and purchase something cute. However, the same cute item you purchased is being worn by hundreds, maybe even thousands of others, around your city, state, and maybe even the country! I love being unique and a bit different, which is why I love learning about new boutiques!

I consider myself lucky to have been introduced to Summers Closet, an online boutique offering a wide variety of handmade clothing and household items. On this site you’ll find an adorable array of baby outfits, holiday apparel and decor, robes, hair accessories, bridal items and SO much more. The best part is there are no shelves or warehouses harvesting a million copies of the same piece of clothing. At Summers Closet, nothing is made until you place your order. Although this makes the processing time a bit longer, you not only are assured a high quality piece made in the USA, but something that is uniquely yours alone.

Summers Closet happens to specialize in a Mommy, Dolly & Me line. This fabulous idea contains an entire product line of identical dresses, outfits, and aprons that, when ordered, contain three identical items in different sizes: one for mom, one for a doll, and one for a child! Regardless if these would be worn for a special occasion, a mother/daughter afternoon, or a family photo, it’s a concept that is sure to delight ladies of all ages. You can also find a Mommy’s Hope line available on Summers Closet. A portion of the proceeds sold from this collection go to benefit Mommy’s Hope, a charity that helps mothers who are suffering from breast cancer, as well as their young daughters.

We were sent a fabulous Mommy, Dolly, & Me blue apron set  to review. Since I have two gorgeous girls, I decided to do something a bit different with our set. I had the Mommy apron made for Makenna, the child apron made for Maddox and the dolly apron made for Makenna’s best friend, Beary, which she’s had for almost 4 years now. I love how versatile these sets are. You could keep this for it’s original purpose, switch it around for two daughters as I did, or even turn it into a Grandma, Dolly, & Me set. These gorgeous aprons are personalized for free, so I decided to have the girls’ first and middle names added to their special aprons as well.

When we received our set I was impressed by how beautifully made they were! They certainly look professionally done, are a wonderful quality, and don’t look lacking at all. What better time than a relaxed, lazy, Saturday afternoon to try out our new Summers Closet aprons and bake some Valentine’s Day cookies. When the girls first saw their new threads they literally squealed with glee. They loved the design, loved seeing their names, and of course, Makenna was overjoyed to see that Beary had her own apron to be included in the fun! Although the mommy apron was a bit large for Makenna (which I expected, since it is for a mom after all) it did work well for her. The aprons made them feel fancy and important! I love that my girls have a wonderful keepsake that we can continue to use each and every time we cook and bake together. Well done Summers Closet!
