We received our very own Summer Infant Prodigy car seat in the Uptown print to review. I want to first mention that when I looked at the Uptown print on the Summer Infant website it looked to have a pinkish/purple/blue hue in the pictures. That is not at all the case, as the main part of the seat is a wonderful soft beige and the newborn support is a darker beige pattern. The overall material used felt like a soft, luxurious suede and is higher end and softer than other infant car seat material I have felt in the past.
I literally could not believe how amazing the SmartScreen technology is. As you can see from my photos above, we tried out the digital steps while in our own living room. While my husband was holding the base up for me to photograph, it immediately noted with a red warning triangle that the base was not level and needed to be fixed. After years of struggling, it was mind blowing to see something so frustrating become so easy.
I appreciated that for the most part the Prodigy is a regular car seat only better thanks to all of the many features listed above. We have the shorter version of this gate but thought we might need a tall one too! It’s the most awesome gate and works well to keep the dogs out of the living room by baby, BUT now we need more gates very soon to keep the BABY out of other rooms that are not so baby safe.
